Big Reactors Roadmap
This is a tentative plan for the development of Big Reactors. It serves as something of a TODO.
Nothing that you see in this file should be taken as gospel. It’s a collection of notes. In the course of implementing a feature, if something doesn’t work out as nicely as described here, I will not hestitate to do what’s fun rather than what’s planned.
Technical Debt / Fixes
- Update the wiki!
WR-CBE receivers do not activate redstone ports in input mode correctly if they are placed directly next to the input port. Workaround: Place one tile’s worth of redstone (or another mod’s redstone wire) between the receiver and the input port.
Setting the dormantChunkCacheSize Forge setting to something other than 0 (which is the default) will cause Big Reactors to break in strange and unusual ways. This setting is not supported.
Turbines do not properly (visually) assemble and have spotty UI updates if mod blocks are used as coils. This can be worked around prior to rc9 by using vanilla blocks, and after rc9 by using vanilla blocks or ludicrite blocks. This is due to a bug in CoFHCore and will be fixed in CoFHCore 3.0.0B7 (or newer).
TODO — 0.5: The Exotic Coolant Update
- Coolant fluid pairs can be registered in a registry, allowing different types of fluids to be used as coolants
- Rebalance reactor interior list so it’s not just a race to enderium
- Make blocks mostly good at either generating energy OR moderating radiation, not both
- Moderators improve as they become more transparent to slow radiation
- Generators improve as they become less transparent to slow radiation
- Optional explosion during severe overspeed conditions
- Redstone port.
- Different types of rotors and blades, made of different metals
- Additional very-high-end coil parts that extract Gratuitous Amounts of Energy
- Big multiblock machine which converts exotic coolants into steam
- Absorbs heat from exotic coolants into heat buffer, transfers buffered heat to water tank to create steam
- Has «special steam» modes which create compressed steam (x10 energy), ultradense steam (x100 energy) and steamium (x1000 energy)
- Primary fluid inlet accepts all mapped fluid pairs from coolant registry
- Coolant manifolds inside reactor add extra surface area — must be adjacent to casing, other manifold or fuel rod
- Coolant inlet accepts all mapped fluid pairs from coolant registry
- Add reactivity penalty to control rods, so a reactor with high control rod insertion is less efficient than a smaller reactor with lower insertion. Encourages right-sizing designs.
TODO — 0.6: The Fueling Update
- Finish the RTG for mid/early-game power. Refactor the TE framework to operate via composition.
- Blutonium: give it different properties than yellorium.
- Blutonium: Create a proper fluid for it so it can be handled as a first-class member of the fuel cycle
- Add fluid fuel interfaces & magma crucible recipes for TE to fluidize fuel
- Add «fluidizer» small machine — consumes power, outputs fluid fuel
- Add «fluidic reprocessor» small machine — reprocesses fluid wastes into fluid fuels
- Allow mixed reactants inside reactor, so long as their products are identical
- Add option to enable reactor meltdowns to config
- When overheated, low chance of meltdown, based on heat.
- When meltdown occurs: — Reactor disassembles — One or more fuel rod blocks convert to corium fluid at the reactor’s bottom — Zero or more explosions near the reactor’s top
- Corium fluid acts like acid; slowly eats through materials beneath it.
- Touching corium fluid swiftly kills the shit out of you.
- Corium fluid eventually hardens into corium.
- Touching corium damages and withers you.
TODO — 0.7: The Reprocessing Update
- Electrode controllers & electrode stacks, discharge large amounts of electricity between nearby electrodes.
- Any reprocessing tanks between the stacks have some waste converted to fuel
- Reprocessing tanks are mounted atop reprocessing tank valve blocks.
- Needs sweet lightning effects
- Create a way to breed or blend fuel fluids into better fuels
- Highlight inventory & fluid slots dynamically when they are exposed via the right-hand-side buttons
- Change all UI strings to be in the localization file to allow for full localization
- Add running audio for reactors, turbines and other machines.
- Ensure audio is appropriately positional and isn’t obnoxiously loud.
- Add option to disable running audio in-game, either from machine UIs or from a mod-specific Options menu
- Suggestions for audio: Issue #367
- Add a temperature gauge block and other «display blocks» that can be plugged into reactor
- Add remote versions of above that read their inputs from RedNet
- Cool particle effects when the reactor is on! (requires making my own particle, bleah)
- Add MFR compatibility for drinking BR fluids with a straw
- Some way of extracting fuel from thaumcraft nodes?
More stuff with liquids
- Add nasty side effects for going near pools of yellorium
- Add liquid interfaces/liquid fuel cycle
Multiblock Power Storage (0.8?)
- Molten salt/liquid metal batteries
- Build big banks of highly-vertical battery cells
- Must warm up (reduced storage efficiency on startup)
- Once warmed up, remains warm so long as there’s more power than a certain threshold inside
- Cools slowly if power within drops below threshold
Fuel Pre-Processing (0.9?)
- Provide better ways of pre-processing reactor fuel dusts directly into fuel fluids at an enhanced rate
- Create a «fear engine» that gives bonuses to power output/fuel generation when exposed to hostile mobs
Beamguide machine (0.8, definitely)

Big Reactors Mod 1.7.10 (Best Reactors, Turbines and Efficiency)

Big Reactors Mod 1.7.10 adds multi-block power systems capable of providing large amounts of RF power to Minecraft. The specific arrangement and material of mod blocks in each multi-block structure determines the performance and behavior of the system as a whole.
A power system can be built in one of two ways: a reactor can provide RF power directly, or a reactor can provide super-heated steam which is then pumped into a steam turbine to generate RF power. The latter option is much more expensive, but also much more efficient. The minimum size of a reactor is 3×3×3 blocks whereas the minimum size of a working turbine is 5×6×5. Systems with several multi-block structures of nearly indefinite size can be built.
Big Reactors greatly benefits from the support of mods which provide transport and fluid pipes such as BuildCraft. It can also interface directly with ComputerCraft and RedNet.
Features:
- Reactors use fuel, and the mod provides Yellorite Ore to produce Yellorium Ingot for this purpose. Reactors can also use Uranium Ingot or Raw Uranium Ingot as fuel. Reactors produce waste in the form of Cyanite which in turn can be reprocessed into usable fuel.
- Turbines use Steam to produce power. Steam may be generated from a Reactor, or from another mod that provides steam generation. Steam is converted back into water, which may be recycled into a Reactor to produce more steam.
Construction:
Reactors and turbines are multi-block structures made up of individual blocks arranged according to specific rules, which together create a large functional machine. Both reactors and turbines must be built as a closed, mostly hollow box with no holes and complete edges, including corners. The edges of this box must be built from Reactor Casing or Turbine Housing blocks, and the faces of Reactor Glass or Turbine Glass blocks, respectively.
In addition to these containment blocks, a number of other blocks are necessary to make a functioning reactor or turbine. None of these blocks can be placed on the edge or corner; they must be somewhere in the faces of the reactor, sometimes in very specific places. Right clicking on the reactor casing or turbine housing will display a message of what is missing.
Important: Ensure that there aren’t any metallic blocks within a 1 block radius of the turbine! Doing so results in unpredictable behavior with the turbine.

Reactors:
Reactor Temperature
The fuel inside the fuel rods generates power, radiation and heat. Heat is transferred to the adjacent 4 blocks from the fuel rods into a coolant or fuel rod block, and likewise radiation is transferred up to 4 blocks (dependant on adjacent block absorption) in the cardinal directions (North,South,East,West).
Excess radiation and heat could cause the temperature in the reactor to rise above efficient levels and consume more fuel, since there is a penalty to fuel consumption at too high an operating temperature.
Reactor Coolant
A coolant reduces the temperature of a reactor, and moves heat from the reactor core to the reactor casing. The higher the casing heat, the higher the energy output and heat transfer rate of coolants.
Any fluid used as coolant must be manually added to the reactor during construction, exactly as you would with solid coolant materials. Those looking to fill large reactors with fluids that fall, such as Gelid Cryotheum, may want to consider using a Flood Gate.
Each coolant material has various parameters that govern how it affects the reactor:
- Absorption: How much radiation this material absorbs to convert to heat. Ranges from 0 (none) to 1 (all).
- Heat Efficiency: How efficiently absorbed radiation is converted to heat. Ranges from 0 (none) to 1 (all).
- Moderation: How well this material moderates radiation. This is a divisor, and greater than or equal to 1.
- Conductivity: Amount of heat transfered on each exposed face.
Turbine:
A Turbine produces energy from Steam generated by an active cooling Reactor or generated using one of 6 other mods methods. Steam is converted back into water, which may be recycled into a Reactor to produce more steam.
Rotor Material
For each rotor block in the turbine made of either a Turbine Rotor Shaft and a Turbine Rotor Blade, a mass of 10 is added.
Turbine Coil Material
The three values are always averaged together to give the resulting values for the entire turbine coil. A higher efficiency will always produce more power. A higher drag will produce more power, but will slow down the rotor more when induction is enabled. A higher bonus will also always produce more power.
Turbine Optimization
Optimized turbine designs for various coil materials
- Turbines convert steam into water at an even ratio, and produce a certain amount of RF per tick depending on the coil material and turbine design.
- Steam intake is always between 0 and 2,000 mB per tick.
- The rotor speed gauge only shows between 0 and 2,200 RPM, but the actual rotor speed can be higher.
- Generated energy is always positive or 0.
- The width of the turbine frame is not a factor of energy output.
- The number of rotor shafts isn’t a very large factor of energy output. Dimensions used are at the Player’s discretion.
- If maximum rotor speed is unlimited and 2,000 mB per tick of steam is available, it is most efficient to use 80 rotor blades. If the rotor speed is limited to 2,000 RPM, perhaps more rotor shafts and fewer rotor blades would be preferable in order to keep the rotor speed above 1,796.27 but below 2,000 RPM while optimizing energy output.
- All blocks of the coil do not need to be made of the same material, but are averaged together to determine the turbine’s score in each of the three coil traits. This makes it possible to make composite coils that use cheap filler metals in balance with high end metals to maximize limited resources. It also means, however, that adding a ring of a low performing metal to a turbine with several rings of a high-perfomance metal may actually reduce the output.

The program comes with a GUI on a screen that can be interacted with
You need a 5×3 screen to make it work, it will not work with any other size of monitor
**I would advise to watch the video to make sure everything is done properly**

Well. i actually found out that since computercraft creates a folder with everything in the computer (one per computer), the name of the file isnt important, it will never read from another folder since i dont tell it to.
I will change that then, it is even easier

This line is to find the monitor. so, are you sure the monitor is connected and the modem is red?

Request: Is it planned to support actively cooled reactors? For me, i’d just be happy if I could connect the Turbine to the computer and if the power buffer is full or at a specific level, it controls the reactor or shuts it off.
That would be so lovely. I’m not good in coding, and I don’t even know how to edit your code fur my purpose, thus i’ve tried.

This is a really awesome app
I’ve been using it for a few days now. It used to take me a couple of hours or so to use at my fuel in my reactor, now it takes days to use one bit of fuel
Only thing was that it was a pain to get it set up. At first I couldn’t get it to detect the reactor, then it wouldn’t detect the monitor, but turning it off and on again several times seems to fix that issue, lol.

Hello There. I really like this Programm. Thanks for that. But i got one Problem.
It doesnt run very smooth for me. after several times when it adjusted down the rods, it Stops working with java null pointer exception
The Script Stops running then and i need to restart it.

Экспериментальным путём выявлено фиксированное количество оборотов и выхода энергии (баланс):
1 — Максимальное количество вырабатываемой энергии — 27’782 RF/тик
2 — Для обмотки требуется 31 блок Лудикрита: 3 полных обмотки + 7 дополнительных блоков
3 — Количество пара — 2000/тик
4 — Обороты — 1839.6 RPM
При другом количестве и типе обмотки энергии будет меньше или не в балансе.

Во-первых, она взрывается.
Во-вторых, их ставят для эффективности. Максимум пара, который одна турбина может принять за тик — это 2 ведра. Больше нельзя. И вопрос идет в том, сколько энергии турбина дает за эти 2 ведра пара в тик. А это и есть эффективность.

Написанная тобой фраза ничего не означает, поскольку в предложении пропущено сказуемое. Если есть проблемы с пониманием английских предложений, могу посоветовать перевести игру на русский язык из меню настроек.
а можно турбину сделать длинее?
А что делать если не можешь поменять режим у порта охлажденния?
В последних версиях для изменения режима у порта охлаждения(реактор) и жидкостного порта(турбина) нужен ключ(из любого мода)
Ребят ставьте дизлайе это гавно полное. Есть турбины который дают 1млн рф в тик. Это полное гавно

Построил точно такую же турбину только вместо эндер блоков лудикрит
вырабатывает 19700 рф а не 24 или 28

Есть, она получается из этой заменой эндериума на лудикрит (конкретно, выходит 28700). На момент съемки видео лудикрита в моде еще не было.
И реактор для нее будет есть 0,063 милиБакита/t (Елориума)
И выработкой пара 2000МилиБакет пара в t

Это не выгодно, если есть мод Advance Solar Panels. Там переводится 3 к 1,1EU-3RF.

Люди,зачем вы пишите:»Нафига столько энергии?» «Куда эту всю энергию девать?».И я вам отвечу . Поставьте 4-6 карьеров,5-6 лазерных буров из Minefactory reloaded и пару механизмов из Build craft. И всё,энергии будет тупо не хватать-_- Просто если вам нужно куча энергии то ставьте этих турбин штук 20-30:D и всё. Проблем 0.Надеюсь я всё сказал если что-то хотите добавить пишите под комент.Ставь лайк(хочу в топ:P)

Extreme Reactors – Mod Guide
This Extreme Reactors mod guide will get you started with a basic reactor setup.
Basic Setup.
PLEASE NOTE: You can also use the big reactor simulator located here: https://br.sidoh.org
Items needed for my Reactor:
Reactor casing x 76
Reactor glass x 96
Control rod x 5
Fuel rod x 20
Reactor access port x 1
Redstone flux power tap x 1
Reactor controller x 1
Yellorium (this is fuel, you will need a few to get started)
Step 1: Make a square or rectangular base for the reactor. In my guide, I have used a 6 x 6 base.
Step 2: Place the Reactor controller, Power tap and the Access port on any of the sides.
Step 3: Build up the outer frame using reactor casing
Step 4: Place fuel rods in a pattern like below.
Step 5: Stack the fuel rods until you reach just below the reactor top. Add control rods on top of the fuel rods
Step 6: Use reactor glass or casing to make the walls of the reactor complete.
Step 7: Through the access port, input yellorium into the reactor. The fuel rods will turn yellow.
Step 8: Fill the reactor with a coolant (diamond blocks are the best I believe) and turn the reactor on using the controller.

Mystical Machines is a new modded Minecraft network with the goal of keeping a small community, with few high-quality servers. We will achieve this by having player caps on servers, by keeping over 80% of the used plugins to be custom made and by only offering a limited amount of modpacks. Hosting only a few modpacks and keeping strict player caps on servers, allows us to keep the community small and not scale into a massive network.
Mystical Machines is run by Brend, also known as Rubbertjuh. He has over 8 years of experience in hosting Minecraft servers and was also the founder of ToastyNetworks. ToastyNetworks was a network that used to be one of the biggest modded Minecraft networks in the world but shut down recently. After retiring for a while, Rubbertjuh’s interest in community management, plugin development and modded Minecraft reignited.

Bigger Reactors-это официальное продолжение оригинального мода Big Reactors от Erogenous Beef.

Ты хочешь власти? У нас есть власть. BiggerReactors-это мод генерации энергии, основанный на оригинале от Erogenous Beef. Полу-вдохновленный реальными конструкциями реакторов, этот мод позволяет реакторам mix-n-match генерировать много энергии. Каждый блок, который вы размещаете, может изменить общую производительность реактора.

• Больше энергии? -Ага.
• Гигантский реактор только для того, чтобы сгибаться на своих друзьях? Конечно.
Все, что вам нужно для начала, — это корпус реактора, силовой кран, порт доступа, топливные и управляющие стержни и терминал. Затем просто трубите/прыгайте в какой-нибудь йеллорий или блутоний, щелкайте выключателем, и вы выключены!
Нужно больше энергии? Просто постройте несколько больших реакторов.
Заметные изменения по сравнению с оригиналом:
• Кнопки графического интерфейса реактора и турбины работают несколько иначе, чем оригинал. Они переключаются на месте, а не в сторону, как оригинал.
• Порты доступа больше не имеют внутреннего буфера, графический интерфейс служит только для изменения режимов. Предметы должны быть запихнуты внутрь (то есть через бункер) и не будут втягиваться автоматически.
• Сверхскоростные турбины для выработки высокой мощности больше не работают (или, по крайней мере, не рекомендуются), так как теперь существует предел эффективности. КПД турбины снизится, если ехать слишком быстро.
• Значения, используемые в расчетах реактора, теперь легко настраиваются, и почти каждое внутреннее значение можно изменить с помощью конфигурации.
• Турбины теперь требовали подшипников ротора, по одному на каждом конце
• Реакторы и турбины теперь имеют динамические энергетические буферы для поддержки гораздо более крупных реакторов и турбин, которые могут генерировать больше, чем полный буфер за один тик. (CC API масштабирует сумму так, как если бы это был буфер 10MiRF/1MiRF, используйте новые методы для получения фактической информации)
• Реакторы больше не имеют предела выработки пара, постройте их такими большими, как вам нравится
• Турбины не ограничены 2B/t, они автоматически регулируют свои пределы в зависимости от их размера
• Изменены ограничения по максимальному размеру по умолчанию, Реакторы могут быть построены до 128х128х192, турбины-до 32х32х192
